See Ya Later Alli-Gaiter
Garter Gaiter
In an earlier post I talked about the beautiful color dipped cowl I did as a potential Christmas gift for my 14 year old niece. The cowl ended up being way too big for her, so I had to come up with another gift that would be perfect. I ended up making her this gorgeous and extremely easy Garter Gaiter from… yup Purl Soho. I swear I am not being paid to endorse the store… though I would gladly take some free yarn if they want to throw a little love my way. 😉
I used Super Soft Merino in Pistachio Green and Heirloom White yarns to knit up this super quick and easy Garter Gaiter cowl for Maddie.
Cozy Winter Hat
The colors of the Gaiter ended up being so beautiful together and the perfect combo for a gorgeous young gal like Maddie, that I decided she needed a Cozy Winter Hat to go along with it. These monogrammed pompom hats were the perfect fit. They were so quick and easy to knit up I ended up doing one for Naleigh, Adalaide and my Dad. Each one took about an hour or two to make and another 20 minutes to monogram. I love them so much I might knit myself one!
For Naleigh’s hat I used Super Soft Merino in Super Pink and Oyster Gray. For Adalaide’s I used Pistachio Green and Heirloom White. I had plenty of the green leftover from Madison’s hat and just enough of the white for the monogram so I reversed the colors for a second hat. I was incredibly proud of myself for using up every drop of my yarn! That rarely happens for me!

You are so talented! I have always wanted to learn to knit, though I am very good at crochet! Love the Garter Gaiter idea. Putting this one on my list for fall!
April 25, 2016 at 4:19 pmThese colors are lovely together. My first love is crochet but this seems like a perfect project for practicing knitting. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
April 25, 2016 at 8:06 pmThe hat, scarfs and cowl looks great on everyone. The girls have their initials on their hats so no fighting over whose hat is whose.
I’m loving your blog and I can’t wait to see your next project.

Keep the good work with your blog! 😀
PS I know you are a really busy woman but I think it would be so nice if you make a youtube channel in addition to your blog! It would be a really nice way to connect with you!

May 6, 2016 at 11:11 pmOh my goodness, the hats and the cowl look great! I love all the colors too! (Sorry about the yelling, but yarn makes me happy! lol) Love the posts and all of the ideas. Awesome stuff! 🙂
May 11, 2016 at 6:28 pmI love the yelling! So happy you enjoyed the post! XOXO, KT
May 16, 2016 at 9:48 pmThe cowl is beautiful! I have an obsession with cowl patterns but it seems as though every time I made them, one opening is always tighter then the other (always seems to be the cast on). 🙁 Maybe someday I’ll prefect it.
Everything you make just looks so comfy and cozy! The receivers of the knits are extremely lucky! 🙂
May 15, 2016 at 6:43 pmI used to have the same problem but it was usually my cast off edge. So I started casting off on a one size larger needle. Maybe you could try casting on the same way?! Don’t give up! XOXO, KT
May 16, 2016 at 9:47 pmHi. I just found your blog and it’s beautiful. I’m an ex knitter, now loom knitter. I love the stuff you have done so far and can’t wait to read the rest of your articles. Congrats on your new baby!
June 27, 2016 at 8:39 pmHi there! I just found your blog. I have to admit I’m a little jealous that you’re able to wander in and visit Purl Soho whenever you feel like it. I’ve always wanted to visit that yarn store. There was a great yarn store in Virginia Beach when I lived there, but I haven’t been impressed with what I’ve found out here in the Kansas City area.
I love knitting and reading, so I’ll definitely be visiting your blog often now that I’ve found it. Have you ever visited Ravelry? I LOVE that site. 🙂 Looking forward to seeing more of your knits and book recommendations. happy knitting!
September 22, 2016 at 8:25 pmWonderful. I love simple, but totally cute projects. Moms are always busy. I am curious about the scarf Naleigh is wearing. Is that a lamb…?? Trying to figure out what to make for Christmas gifts.
