In My Knitting Basket This Month

Katherine Heigl and yarns from her knitting basket
I recently walked into a lovely knitting store while in Jackson Hole WY and got totally carried away as I so often do among piles of beautiful fibers. The crisp temperatures in Jackson had me gravitating towards the chunkier yarns and cozy fall patterns. I also happen to love projects that knit up quick and can be done in one rogue afternoon while binging my new favorite show. With my time spread so thin these days I’m in need of quick and easy craft projects and these patterns were exactly what I was looking for. Idle Hands

Katherine Heigl showing off various colored yarns at Purl Soho in New York
I’m always looking for new projects to embark on (despite the fact I’m rarely done with the project at hand!) and thought I’d share my favorite finds with you all. Not Your Granny’s Afghan

I decided to retire my Oma’s afghan  (not to worry it’s just on the end of my guest room bed  –  not in the trash) and knit up a version of my own using today’s luscious, cloud like yarns.Continue Reading

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String

I love pretty packages, and I especially love receiving them! For two years I went all out in the Christmas wrapping department going so far as to make every gift under the tree coordinate, much to Josh’s annoyance. I bought elaborate gift wrap online, headed to Michael’s for bags full of ribbon, and even adorned some of them with faux flowers and birds. Continue Reading
