Those Heavenly Finds: Week 6

This weeks Heavenly Finds are all about making travel more enjoyable, relaxing and even if you will, like a mini vacation from the madness on the ground! There are clever little drink kits to spruce up those mini airline provided liquor bottles. An incredible and absorbing story that will suck you in and make the hours in the air fly by. The coziest, comfiest of loungewear that I like to throw into my carry on and put on post take off for longer flights. A gorgeously scented facial mist to help with the dry, dehydrating air that makes my nose tingle and my skin tighten like a shriveled prune. It’s just a handful of simple things that can turn a harried, long, boring and often uncomfortable journey into a heavenly moment or two. Enjoy! XOXO, KT

  • The Gin & Tonic – Have you ever been stuck on a flight and had the most limited drink options available when all you really want is your favorite cocktail to take the edge off? Well these genius little drink kits that I found at Indigo bookstore in Toronto are a long or even short flight game changer. I bought a margarita kit, old fashioned kit, champagne cocktail kit and gin and tonic kit for some of my favorite travelers. They’re small enough to fit in your carry on and include everything you need aside from the airplane sized booze of choice, to make your favorite drink. I’m a bit of a nervous flyer but the champagne cocktail kit has got me almost looking forward to my next flight!

A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
  • A Gentleman In Moscow – “By their very nature, human beings are so capricious, so complex, so delightfully contradictory, that they deserve not only our consideration, but our reconsideration-and our unwavering determination to withhold our opinion until we have engaged with them in every possible setting at every possible hour.” This is just one of many of my favorite quotes from this extraordinary book. Amor Towles’ novel is overflowing with heart, intelligence, redemption, love, beauty, history, humor and a reverence for the elegant in nature, the genteel of spirit. I can not recommend this book highly enough!
CozyChic Ultra Lite Range loungewear pullover and pant from Barefoot Dreams
  • CozyChic Ultra Lite Range This loungewear outfit (pullover and pant) from Barefoot Dreams, the same company that makes my son’s indispensable lovey, has become my new and lifelong obsession. I’m not sure there are any words to do it justice but I’ll try. After a long day on Suits in costumes that are in equal measure radically beautiful and radically uncomfortable, the silky soft bliss of this loungewear is like… a crisp fall day, a perfect martini, a fireplace lit and warm, a month’s worth of This Is Us to catch up on, your dog curled at your side, your kids making merry around you, your partner tickling your bare arm, your cool sheets when you slip into bed at night, your first cup of morning coffee…I could go on and on but hopefully you get the picture. They are HEAVENLY!!!!! Not only do they feel incredible after a long day in pinched clothing but they’re also amazing to travel in, or to bring with you on the plane to change into if like me you don’t love showing up to the airport in loungewear. They are worth every penny. And they are going to be your new obsession too. Trust me!
Pure + Simple Organic Rose Hydrosol Facial Mist
  • Pure + Simple Organic Rose Hydrosol This facial mist smells like an English Garden full of roses with the added benefit of being all natural. It hydrates, soothes, moisturizes and calms pores and mind all at the same time. I like to mist my skin with it and use a damp wash cloth I’ve brought along to lay across my face for added skin hydration and to help with that super dry, just might start bleeding nose tingling feeling that happens 10,000 ft in the air.

Those Heavenly Finds: Week 5

In this weeks finds I’m featuring my favorite cozy sweater, Joshua’s favorite lovey, the best toddler bath seat ever and my all time favorite laundry detergent. Each of these things individually are fantastic but combine them and you’ve got the perfect handful of tools for creating the best most delicious snuggle time ever! Joshua Jr. is a very, very busy little man and snuggling is pretty low on his priority list. Since it’s incredibly high on mine I have devised a way to entice him into it with a little help from these four products. First I butter him up with the most fun bath time ever in his perfectly safe bath seat. Then, freshly bathed and smelling sweet I get him dressed, hand him his lovey to snuggle and throw on my super cozy sweater that smells like a bed of roses from my incredible The Laundress detergent and feels exactly like his beloved blanket. I pull him into my lap where the combination of sweet smells, cozy fleecy materials and mama’s love will keep him put for at least ten minutes of blissful snuggle time. Manipulative…maybe. Effective…totally. Worth it…absolutely! XOXO, KT

BBCare Non-Slip Safety Bath Seat
  • BBCare Non-Slip Safety Bath Seat –  I need something that will discourage little man from trying to stand up in the tub. Without a seat that holds him place bath time is a hair raising experience of grabbing his slippery arms and trying to gently wrestle him back into a seated position while he flails about slick as an eel wailing the whole time! For whatever crazy reason they do not sell the non slip bath seat/mat I got off Amazon Canada in the States. This is the next best option I’ve found: Summer Infant Baby Bathtub Seat
Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Barefoot Buddie Puppy
  • CozyChic Barefoot Buddie Puppy -These are Mr. Man’s most favorite thing in the whole world. I say “these” because I had the where with all to buy about five of them so we’re never in the catastrophic position of being without it. I keep one in the car, one in the diaper bag, two in his crib and the other safely tucked away in case one of the others goes missing. I’m a strong believer in the soothing and comforting power of a lovey. Such a strong believer that I still sleep with one of my own. His name is Josh. Just kidding, I really do sleep with a baby blanket from the company My Blankee. That may seem strange to some of you but for a gal like me who suffers the occasional bout of anxiety a soft, comforting satin edged blanket I can wrap myself in works wonders. Joshua Jr’s lovey is a giant part of why my son has slept twelve hours a night since he was four months old. I had a few other tricks that helped encourage his amazing sleeping habits but the lovey is at the top of the list.
  • The Laundress Le Labo Rose 31 Detergent – Ok, I really debated including this in my weekly finds because one 16 oz bottle is a whopping $71.00! I know…it seems crazy to spend so much on laundry detergent but here’s the thing. It smells incredible. Truly, deliciously incredible and makes anything and everything you wash with it smell incredible for weeks on end. So here’s what I do to make it meaningful. I ONLY wash very special items with it like fancy lingerie I wear on occasion and doesn’t require weekly laundering. Joshua Jr’s hand knit crib blanket my mother made for him, but only every other wash or so. Not each time I clean it. It makes his fluffy baby hair smell like a field of roses when I get him up from napping or bedtime. Once a month or so I’ll wash a couple of my favorite cozy throw blankets with it so when I cuddle into the sofa with a good book or good show I’m surrounded by it’s glorious scent. I have a thing for rose perfume so this is right up my alley and it’s potent scent lingers for days, even weeks. You only need four capfuls for a full load and if you overdo it the scent can almost be too cloying so those four capfuls are a rule to follow. I’m only 1/3 of the way through the bottle I bought three months ago so despite it’s hefty price tag I’m getting some pretty serious scent for my buck!
POL Clothing Women's Fuzzy and Soft Pullover Hoodie
  • Women’s Fuzzy and Soft Pullover Hoodie – I’m at a place in my life where I want everything around me and on me to feel soft, cozy and delicious. This pullover from POL Clothing is all that and more. It also has the added benefit of making me irresistible to my children and husband. When I have this on they all want to snuggle far more than usual, and this mama LOVES to snuggle. I use my super fancy The Laundress clothing detergent to wash it every once in awhile so it’s a double whammy when I wear it. Irresistibly soft and deliciously scented. It’s pretty much the only way I can get little man to stop his endless cruising and sit in my lap for a minute of cuddles.

Those Heavenly Finds: Week 4

Last week I posted a photo on Instagram asking you all to guess what my three favorite things in the picture were. Well I made you wait for the answer but here it is. Plus one more favorite thing to round it all out! The perfect summer jumpsuit that’s as flattering as it is comfortable. Speaking of comfortable the chicest slide on sneakers ever that have thankfully made their way into my closet. A fantastic and delicious summer rosé that effortlessly ushers in perfect heavenly moments with just one glass…or two. Last but not least, the most adorable and inspired succulent pots to add flair and color to your home office, kitchen, bathroom or bedroom. Or really anywhere you put it. Enjoy! XOXO, KT

Beauty Face (Celfie) Succulent Arrangement
  • Beauty Face (Celfie) Succulent Arrangement – I’ve become a giant fan of succulents the last few years due to their lush beauty and ease of care. I found these unique and lovely arrangements on Etsy and can’t wait to buy a few for my desk at home in Utah. I love the feminine and whimsical ceramic planters and know their artistry will help to inspire my own creativity while the succulents themselves will add that much needed pop of color and life to my office space.
Step-In Bade Sneaker
  • Step-In Bade Sneaker – I have these in both the cream and the navy and am totally forever in love. They’re incredibly comfortable and so chic I wear them with everything from summer dresses to jeans and tee shirts to tailored pants and blouses. My feet aren’t what they used to be and wearing a pair of heels takes a certain amount of gumption and commitment that I’m not always up for these days. These slide in sneakers are the perfect solution to cute foot wear that doesn’t force me to grin and bare it.
Katherine Heigl Wearing A Pilcro Denim Wide-Leg Jumpsuit
  • Pilcro Denim Wide-Leg Jumpsuit – I found this perfect summer jumpsuit at the Anthropologie around the corner from my Toronto residence. For some strange reason I packed a ton of jeans and sweaters for my time in Canada but not enough lightweight summer wear. There is nothing more uncomfortable than skinny jeans on a hot and humid summer day. This jumpsuit was the perfect remedy to my problem. It’s incredibly comfortable, even in the heat and looks pretty cute too. I’ve been wearing it everywhere. I pair it with cute sandals or slide on sneakers for casual days strolling around with the kids or a bright and summery high heel for dinners with my man. It’s incredibly versatile and it’s not too hard on the ol’ pocketbook either. Score!
Château de Roquefort Corail Rosé
  • Château de Roquefort Corail Rosé – I’m not certain when my love affair with rosé began but I do know that I am just as enamored with it today as I was that first sip however long ago. Usually I like a very dry and crisp pale pink rosé that’s served as cold as possible. This Corail did not disappoint when I was poured a glass at one of my favorite Toronto eateries Chabrol Restaurant. A bit sweeter than I normally go for but not in a sticky or cloying way, in fact that little bit of sweet made the glass even better. I’m not sure how easy this is to get online because I haven’t tried ordering any yet but I thought I’d throw it into this weeks finds anyway just in case you’re on the hunt for a beautiful summer rosé to add to your wine cabinet.

Those Heavenly Finds: Week 3

This weeks Heavenly Finds are just a few of my favorite clothing pieces for summer. A lightweight robe that doesn’t cling in the heat, cozy reading socks for over air-conditioned rooms, fray bottomed jeans that pair perfectly with your favorite sandals, and the most flattering boatneck striped sweater for cooler nights. When I say these are just a few of my favorites, I truly mean just a few! I have tons more that I can’t wait to share with you next week! Enjoy! XOXO, KT

High Waisted Looker Ankle Fray Jeans
  • High Waisted Looker Ankle Fray Jeans – I am a giant Mother Denim fan. The fit, the stretch, the high waist all lend themselves to the most comfortable and flattering jeans in my closet. I’m really digging these fray bottomed ones right now due to the perfect casual ankle crop that suits my favorite summer sandals perfectly. They even look fantastic dressed up with a pair of nude heels for date night.
Lana Sailor Sweater
  • Lana Sailor Sweater – Just bought this cute light sweater. It’s a combo of two of my favorite things, stripes and boat necks! Unfortunately the product link changes depending on your location. So if the link does not work for you, search for “Lana Sailor Sweater” on the Club Monaco site to find it.
Soft Pink Reading Robe
  • Soft Pink Reading Robe – On one of my many Indigo bookstore visits I found this lightweight pale pink reading robe and snatched it right up. I don’t use mine to read in, but it’s perfect for early mornings when the baby starts shouting for me with an insistence that I better take seriously. I keep it laying on the end of the bed for just such moments. I’m a total robe junkie and have far too many of them if I’m being honest but my heavy cozy winter robes are cloying and uncomfortable during those sweltering summer months and this lovely little number won’t be nearly warm enough come dead of winter. So you see my dilemma right? Anyway, this one has been perfect for the particularly sweaty Toronto summer we’ve been enjoying!
Multi-Marl Reading Socks
  • Multi-Marl Reading Socks – These were another Indigo find and what a find they were! Knee high and lined with the coziest, softest material they’ve got me dreaming by Tuesday of Sunday on the couch with a good book. I know they may not seem summer appropriate but I’m sure most of you have experienced the chill of an over air conditioned house and wished for just such a pair of socks to take the edge off. Trust me on these, they will have you longing for them, a good book and Sunday by Tuesday too!
