Artisan Picks: May 2018

EM'SAY Planters

Here are my favorite artisan picks for May. I was hoping to get this out a month ago to help inspire some fabulous mother’s day gift ideas but I fell way behind and totally missed the gift guide opportunity. Orrrrrr…maybe I’m way ahead of the game and am getting this out right in time for you to start planning next year’s Mother’s Day gift! Anywho, here’s the list of picks and keep in mind, each and everyone of these would make an excellent anytime gift. So don’t wait until next year to treat mom, or even better, yourself! Enjoy. XOXO, KT

Yao Cheng Design

With summer in mind and wanting to spruce up my outdoor seating area I set about finding some fun, bold decor that would do the trick. Yao Cheng’s gorgeous watercolor inspired throw pillows were exactly what I was looking for. Once I perused all her vibrant and beautiful pillows I started exploring all her other products. Yao’s designs are truly inspired and will bring the perfect touch of color, nature and whimsy to my summer decor.   Website: Yao Cheng Design

Jillian Rene Decor

Jillian Rene’s color block pillows and tea towels are the perfect mix of elegant, bold and modern. I’m totally in love with her velvet pillows and plan to use one as the base for my ranch office redecorating project. Oh, and yeah, I still haven’t quite figured that whole space out yet in case any of you were wondering. But I promise to do a post and show it off once I do!   Website: Jillian Rene Decor

Ecru Candles

Not only are these candles in beautiful ceramic containers but the beautiful ceramic containers are re-useable! The variety of scents and their simple and modern look make these gift closet worthy. Though, honestly, I might just gift a bunch to myself!   Website: Ecru Candles

EM'SAY

Anyone of EM’SAY’s beautiful concrete planters would look perfect with one or two of the Ecru candles, almost like they were made for each other. I especially love the Maya design and plan to throw a set of the hexagonal coasters in to complete the look!   Website: EM’SAY

New Mom Designs

I stumbled upon New Mom Designs while searching for a crib sheet I could stand for Little Man’s nursery (that’s another space I have not yet perfected.) Though I love their sheet fabrics and options I fell madly in love with their baby playmats. Joshua Jr. is probably a little too old for one now since he’s in the get up and go faze, not the sit still and play faze but I might buy one anyway with the hope that sitting still and playing is in our not too distant future!   Website: New Mom Designs

Oh my goodness, those playmats are precious! My little one is ten months and is wanting to crawl and walk so bad! I think our days of sitting are soon behind us but I’m gonna check it out anyway! Thank you!

My mom does a lot of sewing in her spare time. That talent gene totally skipped me! She made the nieces and nephews and even cousins their own little personalized tooth fairy pillows and they were a huge hit! Some she did in the shape of a tooth and others she made square all with whatever designs the kids liked. She sewed in a little pouch for the tooth and another little pouch for the money. Recently she had to make a special one. Due to some horrific neglect (yes he has been removed from monster mom and dad), a child in the family had to have at least 5 teeth pulled so he needed something a little different. She made his larger and rectangular with Spiderman all over it! He had a large pocket for the teeth on one side and another pocket for the money on the other. She attached some string so he could hang his little pillow from the door. Even worse, he had NINE, YES NINE, teeth pulled. He is four. 🙁 The highlight of the time was knowing he could put his teeth in the pillow for the Tooth Fairy, which he had never even heard of before. Hopefully the next few kid friendly holidays will be better than his previous ones as he learns about the joys of being a child. We are all trying to give that magic back to him and I have never seen a child so young so appreciative of simple things everyone does for him.
