Toronto Adventures: Evergreen Brick Works

Toronto Adventures: Evergreen Brick Works

The Kelley clan has been really living it up exploring our adopted city of Toronto. We relish our quiet existence in Utah but have been loving the change of scenery and the opportunity to experience city living. Before kids I rarely ever got out and explored the locations my work took me to. I am so grateful my little ones have forced me off the couch and out to adventure. The first stop on our Toronto tour was Evergreen Brick Works. We hit it up kinda late on a Friday so most everything was closed for the evening but we loved the beauty, serenity and all the awesome, even though we couldn’t use them, features of the park. We plan to hit it back up for the Saturday Farmers Market soon and Josh and I are dying for an adults only date night at the beautiful farm to table Cafe Belong.

I couldn’t resist taking a million photos! Everything thing was in bloom and the day was spectacular. If you get there late like we did and can’t enjoy all the parks features you can still get some pretty spectacular family photos out of the trip!

Little man is in full toddle mode and resists being held even for a minute these days. Next time we hit up Brick Works I’m bringing some knee pads since there aren’t a lot of soft places to land if you’re walking the paths.

We had a beautiful family dinner at Cafe Belong, however the menu is better suited for more sophisticated palates. There are no chicken fingers or cheeseburgers on this menu!

It was a perfect few hours spent in a beautiful spot and we can’t wait to go back! I hope if you’re in the area you’ll adventure over and have as lovely a time as we did. XOXO, KT

    Dearest Katherine,
Thank you for once again sharing these precarious photos of your beautiful family! My face is shining with smile as I’m scrolling through this positive photos ( actuallyrealky needed this as I’m a in a very long line at the DMV with my little one)! I have never been in Canada yet, but if all goes according to the plan and we end up back in Buffalo, I will have to go check out these places! Have you found a favorite cafe yet for a favorite coffee?
Your smiles are rays of sunshine! Keep em coming! Hugs to you all!
    Truly yours

I love all the pictures of your family. So glad you are taking time to explore and enjoy. Keep posting. I love watching your family. I have a 9 yr. old and 2 yr. old grandson, so I know how it is when the little one doesn’t want to be still. Such a precious age full of wonder and skinned knees. Many blessing to your beautiful family. You inspire me daily.

Hello from an hour away in Hamilton! So lovely to see visitors enjoying our province. Toronto has so many awesome spots, tucked away sometimes but the locals like my husband, know! Haha High Park is a great spot with tons to do for kids- a free zoo, an awesome playground, pool, pretty lake, Shakespeare in the park for adults, etc etc! Anyways, enjoy the city wherever you and the family land! And enjoy the humidity-phew! Haha

Try brunch at Cafe Belong as well as their artisanal market on Sundays (more food then, too :)) if you haven’t already!

I’ve lived in downtown Toronto my whole life and I still fall in love with this city everyday. My daughter loves drawing flowers at Allen Gardens and walking to Riverdale Farm. Be sure to check out blogTO for other great suggestions for kids!
