A Belated Look At Our Family Halloween

This years Halloween costume search led me to the most fabulous Etsy store where I found the perfect costumes not just for the kids but for Josh and I too. I’ve never done a family themed Halloween before but it was so much fun and got us so much positive attention I’m thinking it may be our new Halloween tradition! For as long as I can talk the kids into it that is.
If you’ve been following the blog then you know I’m a pretty big Etsy fan. I love all the shops that sell handmade, small batch, artisan type wares. Inbal Carmi Studio has just such a store and I completely fell in love with her beautiful, whimsical hand sewn children’s costumes. As I scrolled through her page I found these adorable mommy/daughter costumes and couldn’t resist them! I contacted the shop owner and asked if it would be possible to make two boy versions of this costume so Joshua and his Jr could get in on the action as well. Inbal was gracious enough to oblige and I could not have been happier with the quality of her work or how cute the costumes turned out. I realize it’s a bit of a hefty price tag for costumes that you really only wear once a year, but I’ve bagged them up, stored them with cedar chips and plan to get far more than just one use out of these. There’s always more than one Halloween celebration for the kids so I’m thinking next year, that for at least one of them, they will reprise their roles as Russian Nesting Dolls! Here’s a little look at our family photos from the day. Maybe they’ll get ya planning next years Halloween way sooner than you want!

One of my dear friend, who has 4 daughters, did Russian nesting dolls last Halloween and it was such a cute idea. However, I love your idea to have one made for your guys so they’re a part of the theme too!
