Holidays 2017: Christmas Decor

My mixed metals Thanksgiving table is what truly inspired my 2017 Christmas decor. I loved the look of all those glorious gleaming metals paired together in one cohesive way so I figured, why not carry the look into Christmas? I found relatively inexpensive shatterproof ornaments at Michaels that fit the theme perfectly and had a LOT of ornaments of my own I could mix in. I built myself another wreath for the front door with more finds from Michaels. Though I’m starting to run out of storage space for all these wreaths, maybe I’ll use a few for a fun giveaway and one of you who likes the look of them could use it for your next holiday inspired front door! Pretty Useful Things

Over the years it has gotten more and more difficult to think of the perfect gift for Mother’s Day. As a kid in school the teachers would sit us down in art class, throw some clay, paint, crayons and paper at us and order us to make mom something special. As a young adult full of angst and deep, deep feelings I would sit down weeks in advance of the big day and start writing my mother poetry. Really profound, meaningful poetry that I hope she never, ever shares with anyone! Gifts… what to get, who wants what, does anybody in my life really need more stuff?! These are the questions I ask myself every November as I start to prepare for Christmas.

I’ve always loved giving gifts, finding that perfect something for that perfect someone, but for the last few years I’ve found myself becoming increasingly flustered and stressed with gift giving.
