Artisan Picks: May 2018

EM'SAY Planters
Here are my favorite artisan picks for May. I was hoping to get this out a month ago to help inspire some fabulous mother’s day gift ideas but I fell way behind and totally missed the gift guide opportunity. Orrrrrr…maybe I’m way ahead of the game and am getting this out right in time for you to start planning next year’s Mother’s Day gift! Anywho, here’s the list of picks and keep in mind, each and everyone of these would make an excellent anytime gift. So don’t wait until next year to treat mom, or even better, yourself! Enjoy. Late Harvest Tomato Spaghetti

Ingredients on a chopping board
As September rolled into the mountains and with it chillier evenings and brisk mornings, harvesting the rest of our summer veggies became a real priority. We didn’t want to lose anything in a frost so we rushed in and started plucking everything even remotely ready. I ended up with more tomatoes than I knew what to do with and had I been thinking I would have gotten out the canning instructions and preserved them that way. Instead we ate tomatoes for like four days straight! One evening I decided to try my hand at improvising a light tomato meat sauce for spaghetti. I think it turned out pretty great and the family seemed to really enjoy it as well. I thought I’d share what I did and what I’d change with you just in case you’ve got some tomatoes that need eating!Continue Reading

My Favorite Baby Clothes

At my baby shower my mother gifted me a ton of adorable baby clothes from a brand I had never heard of. There were snuggly jammies, simple and classic onesies, and little skull caps to match. When Joshua Jr started to grow out of the newborn sizes I headed to their website and ordered up duplicate sets of all my favorite pieces in each size. That’s how much I LOVE these clothes! The line is from the company Little Me and they have a whole lot more than jammies, onesies and skull caps. I adore their simple and sweet line and can’t get enough of their animal themed footies and tiny gentleman like summer outfits.

Now that summer is quickly coming to an end they’ve got a whole bunch of new fall and winter looks to choose from. It’s gonna be an adorably stylish September for little man!Continue Reading

Purse to Diaper Bag: Staying Chic AND Prepared

Prada Straw Diaper Bag
At the start of summer I was super inspired by Miss Rachel Parcell and her straw purse look. I just happened to have a straw purse of my own, albeit a giant one, that I’ve had for years. Because of its size I’ve never really known what to use it for so it’s sat sadly on the shelf in my closet collecting dust. This summer though I had the perfect use for it! It’s just roomy enough to accommodate all of JJ’s diaper bag necessities while adding an element of chic to my summer wardrobe. I call that a win/win!Continue Reading
