5 Recipes To Wow Your Friends At A Dinner Party

Seasonal Vegetable Frittata
I love a dinner party. I don’t think there is any better way to show your friends and family how much you love them than serving them delicious food. I also know that for many people hosting is intimidating. And I totally get it, all the menu prep, the cooking, the cleaning and the multitasking of finishing the dishes with guests over. It can be A LOT. My goal on my cooking show Nosh with Tash is to take out some of the stress of cooking, so you can focus on the important stuff like having a good time feeding yourself and the people in your life. So, how do we make dinner parties easier for you? I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve.Continue Reading

Pantry Must Haves For Quick Painless Dinners

Katherine Heigl With Pantry Must Haves
I am currently on a time management kick, new year, new me and all, and I have found that having a handful of go to painless dinner options in my repertoire has saved me a tremendous amount of time lately. I keep an incredibly well stocked pantry, mostly because I keep forgetting to inventory what I have and continue to buy duplicates of things because I’m…well…kind of scattered. So I have cans upon cans of every kind of bean, tomatoes, olive, caper and fish (that can be canned that is.) I have boxes upon boxes of pasta, flour, sugar, breadcrumbs, oats, grain, baking soda…well, you get the idea. One night recently the chicken I needed for the night’s dinner had not defrosted in time to start prepping and I had only an hour till my children rioted and burned the house down in a hungry rage. Christie’s Cookies

This past Christmas my neighbor and friend Christie Halverson brought by a beautiful box of cookies for the kids and I to enjoy. They were almost too pretty to eat but eat them we did and let me tell you, they are the most delicious, crave worthy cookies I have ever had! Such delectable sweetness must be shared so Christie is opening a bakery in her native Texas where we can all get our fill of her unique confections in the store or online, thank the Lord! I’ve asked Christie if she’d be willing to be a guest contributor and share a Valentine’s inspired cookie recipe with us all and she graciously obliged. So without further ado, here’s Christie!

DIY Cleaning Supplies

About six years ago I happened upon a DIY counter spray on Pinterest that sparked my curiosity. The idea of creating my own cleaning products tailored to my specific needs and scent preferences that would also be non toxic and kid/environment safe seemed kinda awesome. But would they really work? Would they take too much time to make? Would they last me long enough or would I be making new batches every week?

Well, after that first batch of counter spray I became a DIY cleaning product believer and have never looked back. I even went as far as to make my own liquid and powdered laundry detergents, dishwasher detergent and even explored DIY body products making my own deodorant and body cream. I’ve since given up the homemade deodorant and body cream but I’ve continued to make my counter spray, glass cleaner and laundry detergent with great success! So if I’ve sparked your curiosity and you wanna try your hand at making your own cleaning products here my favorite recipes and scent combinations! Hopefully they’ll work just as great for you and give you the same peace of mind they did me!Continue Reading
