Pregnancy Favorites…Thus Far

As I write this I am 19 weeks pregnant and now believe myself to be an expert on all things pregnancy. Therefore, I thought it only right that I share my hard gained wisdom with all of you presently, and planning to be, gestating ladies out there. I’m joking, I basically know nothing, but there are a few things that I have discovered during the last 19 weeks that have vastly improved my pregnancy experience. I thought that even if only a few of my discoveries were helpful to another pregnant gal I should for sure share them. Just like so many wonderful women have shared with me their tips, tricks and advice for getting through this experience with grace and good humor.Continue Reading

Katherine Heigl Enjoying Time In The Pool On Vacation In Mexico

This time last year I went on the most glorious family vacation to Mexico. It had been at least four years since my last vacation and I was dying to treat myself and my family to a sunny, sandy getaway!

We rented a beautiful private home where we were waited on hand and foot, pampered beyond belief and fed incredible meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was extravagant for sure, and my family and I could not have been more grateful for the experience. Though the food was out of this world, the drinks always flowing and the company wonderful, the most important thing I took away from our week long sun soaked time was a new found love and appreciation for yoga, and an eye opening understanding of the power of intentions.

Everything happens for a reason". So my new found love and respect for yoga, meditation and intention work is out of character for me.Continue Reading

Living Life To The Fullest

I have a ranch up in Utah that is my little piece of heaven. We have 20 acres of perfect pasture land that is home to our nine horses, two donkeys, two goats, two mini horses, one pig, 5 cats and ten chickens.

When the dream to build the ranch began percolating, my mother (who is also my producing partner, business partner and best friend) and I talked endlessly about all our hopes for the land and what kind of ranch and lifestyle we wanted to create. We built a greenhouse and an organic garden, learned the art of bee keeping and read up on caring for chickens. Badlands Ranch (named after one of my favorite Bruce Springsteen songs that seemed inappropriately appropriate) is quite literally a dream come true.

But the truth is, you don’t need a ranch, farm, or even much land at all, to live life to the fullest. All you need is a little imagination, some inspiration and a desire to make the most out of as many moments as possible. I’ve found that the best way to be in the moment, instead of overwhelmed by it, is to have as many tips, tricks and hacks up your sleeve as possible! Here are just a few of my favorite time savers!Continue Reading
