Here’s the second extensive list of new baby must haves. Joshua Jr. is no longer a new baby, well relatively speaking, so most of this we’re not using anymore but boy was it great when we did need it! My next list will include everything my big boy is into now. Stay tuned.Continue Reading

The jams were absolutely perfect paired with Josh's homemade biscuits.

I’ve mentioned before how much I love finding a true artisanal treasure. The hunt, the discovery, thinking no one else knows about your very special treasure…until you tell the whole world about it of course. Etsy has made the hunt for handmade easier and more engaging than ever. I can spend hours cyber perusing all the beautiful shops and stores, seeking out that perfect something. The thing is, I just can’t bear to keep my findings to myself! So here’s January’s list of Artisanal Etsy finds curated by yours truly! Enjoy!Continue Reading

In My Knitting Basket This Month

Katherine Heigl and yarns from her knitting basket
I recently walked into a lovely knitting store while in Jackson Hole WY and got totally carried away as I so often do among piles of beautiful fibers. The crisp temperatures in Jackson had me gravitating towards the chunkier yarns and cozy fall patterns. I also happen to love projects that knit up quick and can be done in one rogue afternoon while binging my new favorite show. Great Expectations!

Christmas Gifts Handmade By Katie

Soooooo… Christmas is officially over and though I didn’t accomplish everything that I had hoped to in the handmade gift department, I did accomplish a lot and I’m pretty happy with how it all turned out.

I’m not gonna lie, I stressed myself out completely trying to finish everything at the 11th hour and breathed a huge sigh of relief when it was all over and done with! But hey, what’s Christmas without a little self induced, set my expectations way too high, kind of stress?! Despite the mad rush to get everything on my list done, I had a lot of fun with these gifts. I loved the creativity of making everything by hand and was incredibly proud of each finished project, flaws and all!

I wasn’t able to do five different crates as I had hoped (again the high expectation thing can be a bit of an issue for me!), but I did do the ones I was most excited about. The tea lovers crate, the mixologist crate, and the chocolate lovers crate. The rest of the crate ideas I can save for birthday gifts, hostess gifts, or even just an I’m thinking of you gift!

My next post will include all the recipes, patterns and shortcuts I used to create my gift crates, so if any of you are feeling inspired you can get cooking and crafting!Continue Reading
